Global Warming

Check out my blog (this blog will give you much more in-depth information about global warming) at:

Check out this video, which talks about alternative energy sources.

There are many different ways that everyone can contribute to prevent global warming to become a major problem.
  • People can choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases.
  • Don't leave appliances on standby when you are not using them.
  • Use less hot water.
  • Recycle: this is a big factor because if you recycle you can save approximately 2400 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
  • Plant a tree.
  • Switch your power sources: you could switch to energy generated by solar power or by the wind. By switching to some of these other sources, the government will even refund you sometimes.
  • Drive carefully and don't waste fuel: you can reduce the CO2 emissions by just changing how you drive. If you drive smart you could cut these CO2 emissions greatly.
These are just some ways out of thousands that could be used to fight against global warming.

Some people disregard the scientific evidence and think that we are going to be entering a new ice age. The "palaeo-record" (record and prehistoric climate changes) shows that in the last few million years, the Earth has cycled between cool and warm periods (cool periods = ice ages; warm period = interglacials). The last 10,000 years have been classified as a warm period. In the 1960s some scientists' work showed that we would be entering an ice age. Although in recent years, from the research towards global warming, humans have created elevated CO2 from greenhouse gases. These elevated levels have created a much faster warming climate then some of the changes that are associated with ice ages.

Alternative fuels, and sources of energy are ways to help prevent global warming the website below has many different alternatives that you should check out:

Global Warming Causing Bigfoot to Move North?

At a Bigfoot convention, called Bigfoot night, Bigfoot enthusiasts had a discussion on how Bigfoot was moving north due to global warming. They say that a nine-foot tall animal covered in dense fur would want to move north. They were migrating across Yosemite National Park, but due to the hot temperatures, Bigfoot is moving north to Canada.

Greenhouse Gas Effect:
Greenhouse gases are chemical compounds that are found on Earth. The sunlight from the sun is re-directed towards space, and captured by the greenhouse gases. These gases are essential to living because they allow the Earth to keep warm. If all of the greenhouse gases were gone the Earth would be very cold, and we would not be able to live. The Earth emits its own greenhouse gases that is just enough to keep the Earth at the right temperature. The emission of greenhouse gases that we emit harm the atmosphere, because if to much greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere, more heat is trapped, and the Earth heats up. Some chemicals are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone, and CFC's. Carbon dioxide is one of the most abundant gases that are emitted by humans.
